Symptoms of Glaucoma

This is the great tragedy of Glaucoma – it can sneak up and steal your sight before being able to do anything about it, which is why it is often referred to as “the sneak thief of sight”.

The main Glaucoma Symptoms are:

  • Interocular Pressure (IOP) above 21 or where there is a large discrepancy between the eyes.

  • Reduced Peripheral vision

  • Severe eye pain, blurred or haloed vision, nausea, vomiting, and headache is associated with closed angle glaucoma and is an emergency requiring immediate medical attention.

If you experience any eye pains or aches, headaches or even temporary vision problems, it is a wise precaution to visit your eye-doctor for a check-up.
